The routine is agreed with you at the start: which rooms matter most, what you would like done each time and how you like things left. Every visit then follows that plan.
What a regular visit covers
In the kitchen we wipe worktops, the hob, cupboard fronts and the outside of appliances, clean the sink and taps, and mop the floor. Bathrooms and toilets are cleaned on every visit, including the toilet, basin, bath or shower, mirrors and wall tiles within reach.
Living rooms and bedrooms are dusted, from shelves and side tables to reachable skirting and picture frames. Carpets are vacuumed, hard floors are mopped, bins inside the house are emptied, and beds can be changed if fresh linen is left out. A regular clean is about keeping on top of the home week to week rather than tackling months of build-up.
Agreeing the routine at the start
Before the first visit we talk through your home and your priorities. Some households want the kitchen and bathrooms done thoroughly every time and the rest kept tidy; others have a home office or a playroom that needs particular attention. We also agree how often to come: weekly suits busy family homes and homes with pets, while fortnightly works well for smaller or quieter households.
Some tasks work best on a rotation, such as the inside of the microwave one visit and the skirting boards the next. Once the routine is agreed it is written down, so every visit is consistent. If something changes, perhaps a new baby or someone starting to work from home, tell us and we will adjust it.
Keys, access and pets
Plenty of customers are out at work when we visit. We can let ourselves in with a key you give us, through a key safe, or arrive when someone is at home, whichever you prefer. If there is an alarm, we agree how it is set and unset.
Pets are no problem, but tell us about them in advance: whether a dog should be kept in another room, whether cats are allowed outside and any rooms that pets are kept out of. That way doors are closed behind us in the right places.
Products and equipment
We bring our own cleaning products and equipment, unless you would prefer us to use yours. Some people have products they like, a family member with sensitive skin, or a preference for fragrance-free cleaning. Let us know about any surfaces that need care, such as marble or granite worktops, wooden floors or high-gloss kitchen doors, so the right products are used on them.
Regular cleaning or a deep clean first?
If your home has not had a thorough clean for a while, a one-off deep clean is a good starting point. It brings everything up to a standard that a regular routine can then maintain. Jobs such as cleaning inside the oven, washing carpets or cleaning the outside of the windows sit outside a normal visit, but they can be booked separately through our oven, carpet and window cleaning services.
