Brentwood, Grays and the Thurrock towns are the furthest part of south Essex we cover. Corringham, at about eleven miles from our Rochford office, and Stanford-le-Hope, at about thirteen, are the nearest; Brentwood and Tilbury are about seventeen and Grays about eighteen.
The two halves feel very different. Brentwood is a prosperous commuter town by the M25 and A12, with an attractive High Street, professional firms and Elizabeth line stations at Brentwood and Shenfield, and Ingatestone is a historic coaching-road village nearby. Thurrock, on the Thames, is driven by logistics, ports and distribution, with Lakeside, the Port of Tilbury and London Gateway, and Grays is its main town and the home of Thurrock Council.
