Commercial cleaning is the core of what we do. From single-tenant units to multi-occupancy buildings, Direct Cleaning Services provides scheduled, consistent cleaning that keeps premises presentable for staff, visitors and customers. As a family-run business led by Jason and Lucas Prior, we keep the chain of communication short: you speak directly to the people responsible for your contract.
Cleaning built around how your premises are used
No two commercial buildings are used in the same way. A showroom needs spotless glass and floors before opening, a warehouse needs welfare areas and offices kept hygienic around shift patterns, and a reception-led business needs a first impression that never slips. We start every contract with a walk-round of the site so the specification matches the way the building is actually used, rather than a generic checklist.
Cleaning can be arranged daily, several times a week or weekly, and we work within our core hours of 8am to 6pm. Where a building needs attention outside that window, talk to us about what is possible for your site.
The specification is the document to refer to when comparing the price with the work proposed. Identify rooms rather than simply describing the premises as a whole: reception, office floors, toilets, kitchens and internal glass can have different requirements. Record which tasks belong to each scheduled visit and which are periodic. A weekly carpet deep clean is not the same service as routine vacuuming, and those distinctions should be clear before the arrangement starts.
Consistency you can plan around
The biggest frustration businesses tell us about is inconsistency: a cleaner who is great one week and absent the next, or standards that quietly drift. Our approach is simple. We agree a written specification, we keep to it, and if anything needs adjusting you can pick up the phone to Jason or Lucas rather than a call centre.
Because we are based in Hockley, our teams already know the roads, the trading estates and the town centres across south Essex. That local knowledge helps us keep to schedule.
Use the walk-round to explain how occupancy changes through the week and which spaces visitors actually see. A room that is rarely used may not need the same attention as a busy shared kitchen. If your requirements change, discuss the affected areas with the owners so the specification and visit pattern continue to describe the work you want. Contract terms are discussed individually rather than assumed from the size of the building.
Washrooms, kitchens and high-touch areas
The areas that matter most to staff wellbeing are usually the washrooms, kitchens and break rooms. We give these extra attention on every visit: sanitising touch points such as door handles, taps, light switches and hand rails, cleaning and restocking where agreed, and keeping shared kitchens clean and usable.
Tell us whether consumables and replenishment should form part of the arrangement. Keeping a sink clean, sanitising its taps and restocking agreed supplies are separate items to discuss. Likewise, waste is taken to your collection point: the position of that point and the bins included should be understood during the inspection. These practical details make the agreed scope easier to follow.
