What public buildings need
Heavy footfall, a wide range of users and public scrutiny mean standards must stay high every day. Entrances, waiting areas, washrooms and touch points are priorities.
How we work
We work to written specifications, can respond to tender requirements, and give you direct access to the business owners for any issue.
Areas covered
We cover buildings across Rochford, Southend-on-Sea, Castle Point, Basildon, Brentwood, Chelmsford, Maldon and Thurrock.
Buildings used by everyone
Community centres, libraries and council offices see residents, staff, contractors and visiting groups, sometimes all in one day. Entrances and toilets therefore need frequent attention, and halls may need cleaning between bookings. We look at how each building is booked and used before suggesting a routine. Before seeking a quotation, identify whether the venue operates as an office, a drop-in facility or a bookable hall. A library entrance and a room hired by groups have different patterns of use. Explain the busiest periods and any rooms that are not open to the public.
Tenders and written specifications
Public bodies often need a clear written specification and evidence of insurance before appointing a contractor. We visit the site, agree what is included and how often, and provide a price on that basis. Our public liability cover is up to £10,000,000. If a tender document sets out the desired tasks, provide it for the discussion. Questions about the scope are easier to resolve when linked to the particular building and its facilities. Separate a regular routine from occasional work on carpets or outside areas so the proposal reflects what is being requested.
Exterior work as well
Alongside internal cleaning, we can clean paths, entrances, cladding and windows through our commercial exterior and window services, so a public building looks cared for from the street as well as inside. Where several groups use the same hall, booking information helps establish when cleaning access is practical. A change in the timetable may affect the arrangement even if the room itself is unchanged. The venue manager can discuss those changes directly rather than treating the initial pattern as suitable indefinitely.
